Your photo library, anywhere, privately.

Scry opens your own PhotoPrism library on your Android phone, with its own private connection built in. No separate VPN app to switch on.

You need your own PhotoPrism server. Scry does not provide one.

A PhotoPrism library open in Scry Scry's setup wizard asking how you reach your library Scry's settings screen

How it connects

The connection lives inside the app. It never uses Android's VPN slot and never touches any other app's traffic, so it works alongside a VPN you already use. It reconnects by itself when you switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

What you get

Private by design

No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. The developer receives nothing about you or your photos. Your keys and passwords are encrypted on the phone and kept out of Android's cloud backup. Scry talks only to the server you choose, and to Tailscale's service if you pick Tailscale. Read the full privacy policy.

Get Scry

Scry is free and open source under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. It needs Android 10 or newer.

If Scry is useful to you, you can buy the developer a coffee. It is a tip, not a purchase of features.

About the developer

Scry is made by Super Steve, an independent developer who wanted a simple, private way to reach a home photo server from a phone. It is a small project and a work in progress.
